My other sons, Sean and Randy, are wonderful boys also
and
deserve much credit for their accomplishments.
But due to circumstances of divorce and time I did
not get to
have as much interaction with them while they were young.
I got that chance with Ror.
Rory is quite an amazing person and has been the
source of
much pride over the years.
Even at age 10 he was setting goals and became one
of the youngest
practitioners in Colorado
to hold a Black Belt in KungFu.
In high-school sports he was an All Conference and All State basketball player,
and while his team did not make the State Championship, they progressed
farther than they had in many years.
Always an out-going people-person, he was also an academic over-achiever and
maintained straight-A's throughout his high-school years. He was selected
to be
a member of the National Honor Society in 1999. During school, he was
class-president several times, including his senior year, and graduated
as co-valedictorian. He received several scholarships and this has
enabled him to attend the University of Denver where he is now
a straight-A student in his sophomore year with
a major in Business & Leadership.
In conjunction with all the college work, Rory is actively
recruiting for his sales
team with SouthWestern.
Last summer he managed his own business for them
doing sales in Alabama, and became the top salesperson for his unit, winning
5 prestigious sales awards. This will likely place him in the top 25 in national
sales for a first year salesperson with SouthWestern. This won him his Nov.
trip to the Cayman Islands and a return trip to their sales HQ in Nashville
this coming January. We can only imagine how well he'll do as a team-
leader for his own unit next year! (He's already planning his Chrysler
Prowler car purchase for his senior year of college ;)
We are all VERY proud of Rory and wish him all the best
in his future endeavors and
career.
(Go make lots of $$ to support us in our old age, Ror !....uh, and hurry. ;)
