The Network Administrator's Role

The role of Network Administrator has become one of the most important technology management jobs in an organization. A Network Administrator's primary responsibility is to implement, manage, and maintain network and personal computer operations. These are often newly created positions and, in many organizations, there is confusion or uncertainty about the Network Administrator's job description. Sometimes, this uncertainty is compounded because the people filling these roles have had little formal training in information systems management.

Every situation is different, however, we have found the following are important components of a Network Administrator's role:
