Never to forgive,
Never to forget!

She drives me crazy, gets inside my brain
She spend my money down a drain auh
So I roll over for my reward 'How much can I afford?'
And she says 'Just a little more'

You know she got a mean streak
Black Mamba don't compete

She got a mean streak
Temptation, bitter sweet

-- Deep Purple, "Mean Streak"
 Perfect Strangers album, 1984

In August of 2001 I purchased a new Suzuki Intruder LC1500
(the LC stands for "Legendary Classic" or, some say, "Lounge Chair" ;).
These pages are devoted to news/pix/etc about it, lovingly named
 "Black Mamba".

Below is a list of modifications/additions I've made to my LC.

Yes, I caught Crowitis

and there is no cure !

Mods completed :
Shortened the foot-brake pedal width to allow more footboard room for my "MotoMan" cycle boots (from Wicked Road Warrior). -- Wired in a couple Piezo buzzers to the turn-signal indicators for safety reasons. --  Completely studded all the seat covers & pads on the bike, using red jewel studs from J&P Cycles. -- Wired in a battery/electrical LED monitor from Kuryakyn. --  Removed the "pair valve" and cough drop assembly  -- Removed the Suzuki tank badges for a "cleaner" look to the faux tank panels...custom paint added afterwards.  --  Cut down a wooden beaded seat-cushion from CheckerAuto to fit over the stock Zuke seats for a cooler & more comfy ride on those hot days. -- Gold-flake glitter-glue applied on conchos and elsewhere to accent the custom paint -- Chopped the included aftermarket V&H baffles to 7.5" for a better sound, then added smaller custom baffle inserts to drop the pitch and the volume to a more "conversation friendly" decibel level. Have since replaced those with BCT Monster baffles. -- Replaced the aftermarket V&H Stage 1 jetkit needles in the carbs with OEM needles from MotorcycleCarbs to prevent premature wear of the emulsion tubes. Ripped the scoop off the stock airbox for better air intake. Set the mix screws to 3F & 2 7/8R turns. -- Moved the helmet lock from the left rear to the left-siderail above the passenger floorboard. Replaced the stock ignition switch with a Harley-style dash panel flip switch with Inferno cover using instructions from Mocc's place. Blacked-out (using enamel spray paint) the formerly red-tinted windshield and added a snakey decal...lined the windshield inside and added accents in various areas using matching snakeskin pattern leather from Corbin ....used (seat) matching snakeskin material from Corbin for accents in various places elsewhere on the LC. Replaced the Stage 1 with a Stage 3 kit from Ramster for more mid-range power.

Adds not noted elsewhere: Wrapped all exposed cables & wiring with red coil wrap from JC Whitney. -- Added wrap-around seat rail, front fender guard, full-size engine guard, chrome flame accents...all from JCW. --  Installed Kuryakyn "dually" highway pegs, some more matching conchos from IronBraid, and a Pro-Tac driver's backrest. -- Installed MoxyEnt lowers to give additional wind protection. --  Installed a Dyna 3000 hi-performance ignition. -- Stickers courtesy of StickerCity -- Installed a Drag Specialties mini tach from Wings Things. -- Mounted a clock and thermometer from Formotion, -- Replaced the el cheapo JCW passenger floorboards with quality Cobra boards and CW extensions for better comfort and looks. -- Replaced the Pro-Tac, seat & sissybar with a faux snakeskin leather Corbin Dual Tour seat with backrests and trim-rail. -- Mounted on a set of HD slant hardbags for more storage and cleaner looks, using Easybrackets. Made various additional support brackets outta 1/8" galvanized steel. Added a custom license plate frame off eBay. Added a Harley Inferno air-cleaner cover (off eBay) using a home-made bracket along with Lou's bracket kit (from Ramster). Added gold edge-trim to the fenders, oil cooler cover, and tank covers, along with some gold cable wrap all from JCW. Added a "kewler grill" screened oil cooler cover, again from Mocc's place. Added a 'Wing-style trunk (from eBay) and a "Black Mamba" graphic along the trunk lid custom-made by "Rabbit Hill Graphics". Mounted a 3-pocket leather windshield bag purchased off eBay. Added a GL1800 chrome trunk rack (from eBay) and matching hardbag racks (JCW). Mounted a 12v cigarette outlet on the crashbar mount, directly wired to the battery with inline fuse, from JCW. Got "tired" of replacing tires so often, so installed a massive Falken Ziex ZE-512 195/65-15 radial car tire from DiscountTire on the rear rim, with a new Dunlop D404 150/18-16 front (click pic below to see more "Dark Side" info!). Removed the MS Fats windshield and pouch, installed a Radio Caddy Fairing with a Sony CDX-5710 stereo and 4 speakers. Replaced the V&H StraightShot exhaust system with a set of RoadHouse "Dooley" dual exhausts. Also removed the 1" lowering links and installed the stock dogbone links....needed the ground clearance for those low pipes!

A BIG snakey Thank You goes out to "Moccasin Mike" for providing ideas/instructions for some of the above mods !

There is quite an avid following for the LC and the Marauder series, both in terms of clubs and Internet pages. You'll find some links to those areas on my "Favorites" page!
Speaking of, I make a lot of signature picture (sigpix) files with Paint Shop Pro for use on the Intruder Forum. You can view my sigpix album if interested.
